Restored by masters and polished to perfection, this first piano nobile is situated in one of the most impressive Venetian Grand Canal palazzi’s and offers exceptional levels of style, service and luxury coupled with breathtaking views. This incredible property is located in the Dorsoduro area of the city, in a wonderfully commanding position near the Accademia Bridge. The apartment lies within the glorious family-owned 15th century Gothic Palazzo Loredan Dell’Ambasciatore, the birthplace of two ancient Doges of Venice – Leonardo Loredan (1501-21) and Francesco Loredan (1752-62).

Entering the apartment, you arrive at the capacious light-filled space of the formal salone where Venetian terrazzo flooring and the lofty beamed ceiling provide a fabulous framework to intricate 18th Century gilded wall sconces and twinkling Murano chandeliers. One of the most priceless features of the piano nobile, if not the entire palazzo – the stunning fairy tale Venetian Gothic windows opening directly onto a long marble balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. The furnishings throughout the apartment are a much-loved miscellany of 17th-19th Century family antiques carefully integrated alongside modern and classic pieces and decorative features, many of them were designed specifically for the palazzo. The sofas crafted by Florentine artisans are upholstered using traditional Venetian cloths.

To the right of the salone and also overlooking the Grand Canal sits a regal yet comfy sitting room bedecked in antiques and rich golden fabrics. The room boasts 18th Century Venetian mirrors in gold leaf and an intriguing collections of antiquities. To the left of the salone sits the main dining room also fronting the Grand Canal – a vision of Venetian poise and elegance where the formal table for twelve, perfectly attired in custom-made Chiarastella Cattana linens, requests the pleasure of your company.

The breakfast room beyond seats eight and is perfect for more informal dining and light snacks during your stay, while adjoining it lies the beautifully designed deluxe contemporary style kitchen where bespoke brushed oak units, smart matte black marble work surfaces plus a central free-standing wooden butcher’s block. The kitchen is also fitted with a professional double oven for aspiring chefs or for private in-house chefs (available upon request), a fridge with ice machine, as well as further appliances. Naturally, despite the historic past of this accommodation, the apartment is fully air-conditioned and can be enjoyed in any season of the year.
